Buffett’s Berkshire Invests Big in Apple: Warren Buffett’s company, Berkshire Hathaway, increased its Apple investment while decreasing investments in Taiwan Semiconductor, US Bancorp, and Bank of New York Mellon during Q4 2022.

Additionally, it added to its small investment in Louisiana Pacific and continued to trim its investment in Activision Blizzard. Berkshire Hathaway’s biggest investment in the past year in Occidental Petroleum remained unchanged, while it increased its ownership of Chevron shares.

The investment in Chinese electric car maker BYD is not reflected in SEC filings due to being held on the Hong Kong stock exchange, where Berkshire Hathaway sold off 95 million of the 225 million shares it bought in 2008 since August.

One of the biggest changes in Berkshire’s portfolio is not reflected in SEC filings because its investment in Chinese electric car maker BYD is held on the Hong Kong stock exchange. Berkshire Hathaway has sold off 95 million of the 225 million BYD shares it bought back in 2008 since August.

Buffett’s firm adds more Apple, and slashes chipmakers and banks.

Berkshire Hathaway bought 21 million more shares of Apple, bringing its total to 915.6 million shares.

Berkshire also bought nearly 2 million more shares of Chevron, giving it control of 8.7% of the oil giant.

US Bancorp and Bank of New York Mellon decreased 🏦

Berkshire Hathaway decreased its investment in Taiwan Semiconductor, US Bancorp, and Bank of New York Mellon during the same period.

Berkshire added to its smaller in Louisiana Pacific by picking up more than 1.2 million shares.

Berkshire drastically reduced its investment in Taiwan Semiconductor from 60 million shares to 8.3 million shares.

Berkshire cut its US Bancorp investment drastically from 52.5 million shares to 6.7 million shares by the end of the year.

Berkshire Hathaway added to its small investment in Louisiana Pacific, giving it control of nearly 10% of the company.

Berkshire sold off more than 37 million shares of Bank of New York Mellon during the quarter, leaving it with just over 25 million shares of the bank.
