Jennifer Lopez recently gave fans a glimpse into her 55th birthday celebration, which she marked with an epic Bridgerton-themed extravaganza. The singer and actress shared behind-the-scenes moments from the party on Instagram, posting a video montage with the caption, “Dear gentle reader, a splendid evening was had by all.”
In the footage, guests are seen dressed in Regency-era attire, with JLo, of course, being the main attraction. At one point, she can be seen taking the microphone to sing. The evening included the royal treatment for Lopez, complete with a three-tiered white birthday cake, which she blew out while sparks flew in the background.
Conspicuously absent from the celebration was Ben Affleck. The Oscar-winning actor and his wife have been the subject of split rumors in recent months. The birthday party took place just days after the couple spent their second wedding anniversary on opposite coasts, with Lopez in the Hamptons and Affleck in Los Angeles. The pair recently put a mansion they bought last year up for sale for $68 million.
JLo and Ben haven’t been photographed together in over a month. In June, Lopez vacationed in Italy without her husband, although she has been enjoying her summer in the Hamptons, sometimes accompanied by Affleck’s daughter, Violet.
Originally, Lopez was set to begin her “This Is Me… Live” tour in June, but Live Nation announced in May that it was canceled. The singer, who shares 16-year-old twins Max and Emme with ex-husband Marc Anthony, decided to take time off to be with her children, family, and close friends. Lopez later expressed her feelings in a statement, saying, “I am completely heartbroken and devastated about letting you down. Please know that I wouldn’t do this if I didn’t feel it was absolutely necessary. I promise I will make it up to you, and we will all be together again.”
