DK Metcalf Sideline Outburst: Seahawks Star Receivers Frustration Boils Over

After a tough night in the office, star receiver DK Metcalf of the Seattle Seahawks voiced his frustrations on the sidelines, where things got a little out of hand. DK grabbed the mic directly from the face of one of the Seahawk staff members.

Now, I’m no lip reader, but I assume this wasn’t a friendly conversation between the receiver and offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb.

Grubb came over from the Washington Huskies, where he and the team excelled in their high-power offensive attack. The Seahawks have had moments where they’ve looked extremely dangerous but have been, above all else, inconsistent.

It seems like this is what DK is complaining about. Geno and DK nearly hooked up for a touchdown before half, but the receiver was unable to get both feet in bounds.

One thing that’s guaranteed with DK is that he’s going to voice his frustration. Honestly, the Seahawks have paid for that with many unnecessary roughness penalties or offensive holdings. Still, DK obviously remains one of the best receivers in football—6’4″, 236 lbs, and an athletic freak.

But I would never let him grab the mic from me if I were a coach because the disrespect towards his coaching staff honestly feels pretty outrageous. No matter how talented a player is, he should never feel like he’s above the game and especially his coaches.

Late in the fourth, Geno Smith finally connected on a deep ball with Metcalf that went for a touchdown. However, it was called back for an illegal shift. Classic. Just one of those games where nothing went right for the Seahawks.

Geno threw two interceptions, one coming at a costly moment in the fourth. The 49ers were able to capitalize with a pretty touchdown to essentially seal the victory, and they would win 36-24 as DK struggled heavily with only three receptions for 48 yards.

Should DK be fined for his actions? Should the team take some disciplinary action? How would you deal with this if you were the head coach and wanted to keep the locker room moral.

Strong while also ensuring that the coaching staff gets the respect they deserve? Somehow, I feel like this is going to go unnoticed and thrown under the rug. But let me know your thoughts below.
